I lost my job February 16, 2009

Posted by patrick.klepek in economy.

MTV News’ budget was severely reduced for 2008. They can no longer to afford my salary, which means I’m out of a job at the end of the month. I’ll write more about it later — I’m planning a personal, gaming-focused blog — but I wanted to make sure people knew, if they’d heard anything.

Damn that sucks, losing a job is never easy, it is nice to see you are already being productive though. I’ll be looking forward to the new gaming blog.

Wow, even the cash crop of MTV is feelin’ the hurt? I should have never ragged on you when you left 1up, I was just mad cus you were one of many leaving and thought it sucked young talent was jumpin’ ship. Anyway, I look forward to hearing what you have lined up already (assuming I heard correctly on either Revel or ListenUp I forgot which). Regardless good luck on whatever you do.

P.S. Ever thought of skyping into a podcast? If its not your thing that’s cool, but I know a lot of people would like to hear your input on a podcast.

I just found out that you had a blog. Definitely a good read. I will continue to check it out. I’ve been a fan since your days at 1up, and was impressed by your depth of gaming knowledge on The Player One Podcast. I’m part of a gaming podcast/site/community called GamerHusbands. Don’t be thrown off by the name. You don’t have to be a husband to be a part of the community and site. It’s just one thing me and my co-host have in common. We would love to have you on the show sometime. If you ever want to come on and be a guest host and talk some games, let me know. I left my contact info.
