Snow...in San Francisco? by you.
Not really. It was just hail that came barreling down Tuesday night. But that’s the closest we’re ever going to see snow in San Francisco, I bet.

it’s truly Christmas everyone.  i just heard word from dear ol’ Perez that Betsey Johnson is considering a fashion clothing line at your local department store near you.

CEO Chantal Bacon said, “Ms. Johnson is planning a limited-edition design collaboration with a retailer that will likely launch in the fall.”

Oh boy!  my favorite store in the world, Target, plus my favorite designer, Betsey Johnson!?!?!?  I cannot contain myself!  too much excitement coming to a location near you!

i guess i am going to have to schedule a flight back home to chicago for pk and i.  i just heard that Harry Potter is hitting the road!  beginning on april 30th, Harry Potter will hit up the Museum of Science and Industry in chicago for it’s debut.

According to a press release, Brad Globe, President of Warner Bros Consumer Products, said “We are proud to present this unique exhibition, which captures the magic of Harry Potter and will give fans of all ages a front row seat to some of the most iconic artifacts and scenic elements from the beloved films.”

basically, you can go look at props and stuff used from the movies.

i love that tickets are already on sale as well.  not only do you have to pay for the museum admission, which is separate from the exhibition, but also fork out another $26 to see the Potter thing.  in a time of recession, seems a bit pricey!

seems pretty hilarious and i think that my uber obsessed boyfriend, pk, would jump at the chance.  i mean, he did drag me to the midnight Harry Potter book release.  don’t get me wrong, i love me some Potter, i just don’t read the books.  i stick to the visuals, which is why i am quite intrigued at this idea of a Harry Potter exhibition.

don’t worry, i will ensure a prompt posting of my endeavours while visiting this magical event.

I missed out on San Francisco’s annual comedy festival, Sketchfest, last year, but there’s no way that’s happening this year. This Sunday, I will be camping out at my computer, coffee in hand, to purchase tickets for a number of shows. Nothing will stop me from seeing the “Upright Citizens Brigade” live and in-person. mini huevos rancheros December 10, 2008

i made these for pk and i this morning.  it was delicious and easy to make!  although i added and changed some things, i found this recipe on wholefoodsmarket.com.

this recipe is great for a brunch party or a simple and trouble-free breakfast to make with kids.  i love that you can prepare each mini cake to each persons liking, since some people do not like meat, cilantro, onions, etc.

4 (5-inch) corn tortillas

Olive oil spray

1/2 (15-ounce) can refried beans

4 large eggs

1/2 cup salsa

4 tsp shredded cheddar cheese or queso fresco

1/8 cup chopped fresh cilantro

1/8 cup chopped onions

1/8 cup grape tomatoes

¼ cup cooked chorizo crumbled or 2 slice of bacon crumbled (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°F and oil a standard 12- cup muffin tin.

Heat corn tortillas one at a time in a dry skillet over medium-high heat for 15 to 20 seconds on each side, just until they are soft and pliable. Spray each warm tortilla with canola oil on both sides. Press and fold each tortilla into a muffin cup. Place a small ball of foil in the center to hold in sides of tortillas. Bake 5 minutes.

Remove foil and add 2 tablespoons refried beans to each corn tortilla cup, pressing them down into bottom of cup. Make an indentation in the center of the refried beans and carefully crack an egg into each indentation. Bake in the middle of the oven until whites are just set, about 15 minutes.

Remove cakes from the muffin pan carefully, using 2 spoons or small spatulas. Top with a spoonful of salsa and sprinkle with queso fresco, cilantro, onions, tomatoes, and crumbled chorizo/bacon. Squeeze a little lime juice on each cake.  Serve immediately.

super mario brothers art room December 9, 2008

Antoinette J. Citizen blew my mind.  she created an art installation of an interactive Super Mario Brothers Level 1-1 Room.

the only thing missing from this room are the goombas and the koopa shells!

oh man would i like to play in it!  it even has working question mark boxes and bricks, which make sounds from the game.  how awesome is that?

i love super mario! 🙂
