the River Thames is the second longest river in the United Kingdom and the longest river entirely in England.  check out this sweet video of it!

what did you think of the Watchmen?

personally, i really enjoyed seeing this timeless comic come to life.

**********************************(SPOILERS ALERT)************************************

here are some of my comments:

• i loved Dr. Manhattan and the use of full male nudity at an R rate movie (it’s about time!).  the character looked and sounded great.
• the updated pin up version of Miss Jupiter/Silk Spectre I was fantastic.  (i dressed up as her for the movie premiere.)  although at the end, it is quite obviously that they caked on the fake ‘age’ makeup. she looks really gross.  i was surprised globs of makeup didn’t fall off her face during her scenes.
• the use of pop culture music in this film is ridiculous.   ride of the valkries during the viatnam scene? really? felt more like Apocalypse Now!  i completely understand the context of using the song: Hollis then explains that that’s why “The Ride of the Valkyries” is the saddest thing he could think of.
  it just seemed a little cheap.
• Rorschach was incredible.  the actor, Jackie Earl Haley, NAILED IT!  seriously, he captured the psychopath brilliantly.  i was absolutely blown away by his performance.
• the movie completely cut out the news stand guys.  they were the only non-super hero characters in the comic book.  they gave a realistic regular average Joe approach of the fear people had of a nuclear war.
• the guy playing Nixon was horrifying.  he didn’t look nor sound like Nixon.  i could have done a better job purchasing a Nixon mask from the Halloween store and looping a bunch of his speech recordings.  for the amount of money this movie was allotted, you think they would get a realistic Nixon.
